DM Studio processes account and project information to operate collaborative video workspaces. This includes the account details used to sign in, workspace memberships, project information and video links, comments, annotations, and activity records such as the person and time associated with a project change. Information is shown according to the project's access permissions and any review links its members choose to share.
Optional Google Drive connection
You choose whether to connect Google Drive. Google handles Google-account sign-in; DM Studio does not receive your Google password. The connection requests Google's selected-file permission (drive.file). This permission can allow an application to manage files selected through Google Picker; DM Studio's review connection uses it to read the selected video and its metadata. It does not edit, delete, or change sharing settings on your Drive files, and it does not request permission to read your entire Drive.
DM Studio accesses the selected video's identifier, filename, media type, download capability, and video data to confirm access, stream the video, and synchronize the review player's timecode. Private playback requires both access to the project in DM Studio and access to the video through your connected Google account. If the owner disallows downloading or streaming through the API, playback may be unavailable.
Storage and processing
Google authorization tokens are encrypted in a browser cookie that application JavaScript cannot read. The connection can last up to 30 days unless it expires or is disconnected sooner. A temporary access token is supplied to Google Picker while you choose a file. DM Studio's server processes video data in transit to deliver playback; this connection does not save a permanent copy of the video in the application's database. Project links and review comments remain part of the project.
DM Studio uses service providers for application hosting, authentication, and data storage. Google processes the connection and selected-file requests. These services process the information necessary to provide their part of the application. Google user data obtained through this connection is used for the requested video review features, not sold, used for advertising, or used to train generalized AI models.
DM Studio's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Your controls
Disconnect Google Drive in the video connection controls to remove the saved connection from that browser. You can also revoke the application's access in your Google Account's third-party connections settings. Disconnecting does not delete the original video, project links, or existing comments.
